Aetna leaves Colorado small group market
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Oct. 18, 2010
Aetna says it is leaving the small group market in Colorado.
Aetna covers about 18.6 million people nationally, but company spokeswoman Anjanette Coplin would not say how many members it had in the Colorado small group market.
"Earlier this year, we identified several states where we were no longer competitive and, as a result, decided to withdraw our small group plans," Coplin said in the statement. "A number of factors contributed to our market withdrawals, including low membership and the overall affordability of our small group plans in those states."
