Astrodocs at work
Astronaut Daniel T. Barry, MD, PhD, works near the end of the space shuttle Discovery's remote manipulator system arm during a spacewalk in August 2001. Discovery was docked to the International Space Station for several days and the shuttle crew transferred more than 2.7 metric tons of supplies and equipment. The mission was accomplished in 186 orbits of the Earth, covering 4.9 million miles.
