Graphic cigarette warnings latest bid against smoking
The new, bolder labels are part of the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, which was signed by President Obama and became law in June 2009. The legislation calls for nine new color graphics depicting the negative health consequences of smoking. The graphics are accompanied by a specific text warning, and each contains a phone number for a smoking-cessation hot line (800-QUIT-NOW). WARNING: Cigarettes are addictive.
